Died of old age.

Don’t cry for the lost, smile for the living. Get what you need and give what you are given. Life’s for the living so live it, or you are better of dead.

Name: Lully
Nickname: Lullaby (Given by Vitani, he doesn't remember his kit-name)
Age: 11 years (adult)
Gender: Male
Breed: Norwegian Forest Cat/mix
Born in: Autumn, year 93

Profession: Elder (Former Leader (former Deputy (former Gem-Collecter)))
Tribe Tattoo: Pink-Water (Previously Green->Yellow->Silver)
Soulbond: Basil
Current apprentice: None
Former apprentices: Muse, Cadence, Coud, Pangur
Skills:
    Primary: Full
    Soulbond: 1

Appearance & Physique:
Even though he is not a complete pure Norwegian Forest Cat, Lully still holds most of the breed’s features. His pelt has grown longer as he has aged and the long, thick fur covers now most of his body. He tops more in strength than agility as he has a large and sturdy body and due to his thick fur he can deal with attacks fairly good. He has a strong chin and muzzle and a long, bushy tail that, together with his fur, makes it easy for him to handle the cold. He also has a little notch on both of his ears.

Height: Tall!
Build: Sturdy & muscular
Fur: Long & thick
Scars: A three pointed scar across his face he received while being captured, he was wounded once more during the Enlightened War, casuing him to lose his sight on it permanently.
Items: A necklace that he keeps twirled around his front leg which Basil gave to him on their one year anniversary. The bone piece has the Light- and Water-Tribe symbols engraved in it and was once blessed by Basil. A green star stone with the Dream Walker ability, Basil has the twin. A few green and pink gems.

Personality:

    Wise | Overprotective | Calm | Kind | Hardened | Playful

Wise: After living for more than six years it’s easy to say that Lully has experienced a lot. Three apprentices have been under his guidance, he’s had kittens of his own and he’s helped past leaders. Knowledge is something this cat has a lot of and he’s happy to help others by using it. He’s witnessed so much but he tries not to let it break him. Lully uses his past experience to help him, to lead him, and to lead others. He carries it, all of that which he’s seen. He doesn’t flaunt with his knowledge or think that his opinions and thoughts are the right ones. He will always consider and value the views of others. Though he may be a leader, he doesn't think he stands over others.

Overprotective: After years with the Tribe, having gained and lost beloved friends and most importantly having become a father, Lully has grown quite overprotective over those close to him. He will always care about others and puts their needs before his. Sometimes he can be a bit overbearing with his protectivness but he tries to take a step back when he can and not become an annoyance. It’s just that he really cares about his family, friends and tribe. He lived alone for almost three years, family is everything to him.

Calm: Growing up in solitude has shaped Lully to be rather peaceful and still. He doesn’t get worked up or bounce around and it’s rare for him to get angry. He will only be upset if there is a good reason for and even then he’s usually very levelheaded. Try as you might to anger the tom, he won’t bother with cruel word meant for him. Call him what you want, but you’ll most likely just get a gentle smile back. On the other hand, threaten anyone in his family and the kindness will be gone. And while he is a calm cat, Lully does know how to have fun with others and seeing eager and happy cats usually brings a lot of joy to him.

Kind: Lully is in overall a very humble and gentle cat who’ll listen and give advice at the best he can. He has quite the fatherly presence around him and does look at others with different eyes now that he is a father. Younger cats will usually hit a soft spot in him and he would care for them if they need it. He can also be very generous and helpful to complete strangers, even though he might have no connection or motive to help them. Lully would not hesitate to save others, whoever they may be. He’s not oblivious, but he trusts others very easily. When first meeting a cat he will always have an optimistic view of them and be open. Unless shown other wise, he will think they mean well from the start. It means that he might be a bit too soft sometimes.

Hardened: With wars, deaths and disasters on his back, Lully has become a bit jaded regarding such things. It doesn’t make him sway or cause him stress like it used to. He will still worry or be sad when bad things happen of course, but he will be steady at the same time. It frightens him a bit how it doesn’t affect him as much anymore. The only time he will truly worry, or even fear, is when it’s about his family.

Playful: He will always follow along with a joke and make some himself, kind of like the “funny uncle”. A friendly tease here and there might occur and even more so if it’s a younger cat he’s speaking to. He never mean any harm with it though, it’s just a trait that comes from his carefree nature. Lully may have a laid-back attitude but he’s not serious. He loves to have fun with others and never says no to have a play, especially with kits.

History:

    Amnesia
Lully was the only kit born by his mother in the Earth Tribe, thus becoming everything to her. She loved him more than anything, and when Lully was claimed by Water and not Earth, it broke her heart; she could not bear to live without him closely. Desperate, she ran to the Water Tribe one night and took him away and fled. Whatever happened with the two of them after that is unknown. Even Lully doesn’t know, as he has no memory of either his mother or what they did.

Almost everything from the time when he was younger than one season-cycle is gone in his memory. What Lully only remembers and knows is the time when he lived in the forest alone, wandering around and finding new places to stay at but always on the move. And while he did catch the scent of stranger cats from time to time, he never had the urge to meet them.

    Return (RP story start)
At the age of three, now an adult, Lully came wandering by the Water Tribe and ended up rejoining the tribe as he found out that it was there he belonged. It was a big change for him, having to learn things about the Tribes he should have learned long ago and living with so many. And even though he still held a love for the forest, he came to get used to it all and took great joy in having friends for the first time and valued them deeply.

The tom came to know two of his tribemates very well right from the start. Cadence, a young Pink-Water, became his apprentice. And though unused to teaching others and slightly doubtful of how good of a mentor he would be, Lully put his utmost effort to make sure he tought her well. The two came to grow close quickly and it seemed like their bond grew stronger for each day. Another cat he got to know was Mi, an Orange-Water with a similar position as himself. It was as if they had known each other from birth, he felt incredible at home whenever he was with her and she became his greatest friend.

    Migration
When the Second Great War arrived, Lully didn’t have many opinions on which side to stay on or what was right, being relatively new there. At the most, he just wished not to partake in it. But due to knowing mostly of the Water-Tribe and having his friends there, he fought for the Alliance. Even if it was just because it was the only way he could protect his dear ones.

The war didn’t cause that much affect on him, having gotten out of it with minimum damage and with his friends still alive, it was the migration that took more toll on him. Leaving the land he knew so well and loved was not something he wanted to, even if he too could see it was dying. But it was also the feeling of leaving something else that made him hesitate on his choice. He felt that if he would leave the land, he would also leave any chance he had left of knowing what happened to his mother. Lully knew it was silly and that he should think like he always did, not being bothered by it. Still, the tom couldn’t help but hesitate. But in the end, he followed with his tribe.

    Passing
In beginning he often felt weary and tried due to walking around and exploring the new lands. It was difficult for him to get used to the place, but as time went by he slowly felt more secure and at home. A lot of help came from meeting new cats, such as Zenobia, an Orange-Air he quickly grew close friend with after they both had helped each other in different ways. He had helped her to Light-Tribe after injuring her leg and she had helped in for simply listening to his worried thoughts. He met the Green-Earth Kokkinos too, though their meeting might not have started in the greatest way.

    Clarity
The caimans showed up, and the threat they brought with them did not sit well with Lully. When his mind was finally starting to return to its calm state, he now had a new thing to worry over. But there’s a silverlining to everything, and he certainly had not expected to find what he did, love. A simple meeting with Basil by the lake quickly turned into many days of spending time together. From the very start Lully had been intrigued by her, though he could not tell exactly why he felt like that. He was happy everytime they saw each other and quickly realised that he longed for it when they weren’t. He loved listening to her, make her smile and show her places she may not have seen. These feelings and thoughts caused him great confusion as he had never felt anything like it before. He had never had the desire to find someone to love in that way or even had the thought of it, so it took him a while to figure out exactly what he was feeling for the Silver-Light.

But the words I think I like you was all that was need for them to realise what feelings had started between the two and from there their relationship continued to bloom. He came to care for her deeply and truthful and learned that love was something he truly wanted.

    Distrought
Though the new found relationship with Basil gave him a great sense of joy, the caimans still had him worry over those close to him. Ever since the Second Great War, Lully had grown very protective over whoever he met and now with the threat of the caimans, he wanted nothing more than to keep them all safe. This made it not easy for him to see Basil go with the other leaders and deputies to come to an agreement with the creatures, into their very lair. It did not help either when the rest of the Tribes were ambushed at the wall. During the battle, all he could think about was her. She was still alive when they returned though, and in the aftermath brought him the news that she was, in fact, pregnant.

    Change
The thought of becoming a father kept him in high spirits but the need to be strong and to protect had never been more important to him than at that point, and as if the Spirits had heard him, he was given such position. With Vitani leaving the Water-Tribe, Tuari became their new leader which meant a new deputy was in need. As the new Silver-Water asked him to take up the rank, Lully did not hesitate to agree. He was the oldest in the Tribe; he had lived through the Second Great War and had seen their former land die. He had experience and knowledge, and with so many cats having come and gone before him, while he had lived, Lully felt extremely obligated to help the Tribe and Tuari. He helped her with whatever he could, gave her guidance and advice whenever she needed it and always remained strong and steady.

Though his time was now often preocupaid with tasks that regarded his new position, Lully made sure that whenever he did have a moment to spend on something else, even if it was short, it was spent on others. He was determined to be there for his new apprentice Coud, a young cat he had once saved from drowning and had, ever since then, always kept a watchful eye on him. After the state he had seen him at the lake, not to mention the many news regarding his family, Lully wanted to make sure that the young cat had someone to lean on if needed. He tought him what he knew and was there to guide him.

The new deputy also made sure to keep in touch with the cats from his former position, the collectors and crafters, and especially Cadence. With so many new things in his life, he didn’t want her to feel abandon or left out of his life. She was, after all, the first cat to call family. And of course, there were many visits to his mate and their kits.

    Father
Having no recollection of having a father, or even a parent, Lully was a bit unsure if he would be a good father himself. Though the Yellow-Water quickly fell into the roll and felt nothing but joy over his four kits, Rose, Zay, Erim and JazzThey were a rowdy bunch, everyone except Zay at least, and though Jazz and Erim seemed to fight with each other quite often, Lully didn't worry that much about it. He took it as a coming thing siblings would do. But perhaps he should have worried more...
The dangerous brought on by the Caimans were still there though and with such a high desire to protect others, Lully worked hard as the Tribes prepared for battle. So much that when his daughter, Rose, left, he had to use every force within him to tell himself that she was still alive somewhere, so to not fall.

    Peace
Eventually, with a blessing from the Spirits, the Tribes won over the Caimans and could seal them off from their lands. Lully faired very well during the war and the few wounds he did get were minor things that his fur would eventually cover. The lands were safe again and time had gone by so fast that his kits were now to be given their tattoos. It was with a bitter-sweet feeling he watched his kits leave for their new homes, but at least he and Basil could finally have some time for themselves again, to enjoy the peace. Though, with all that he had seen, he wondered how long it would last this time.

Nevertheless, Basil and Lully had decided to have another litter. The lands were at peace and they found it to be a good time to let their family grow, and it didn't take long before Basil had become pregnant.
Water-Tribe also saw an influx of cats. One of them were Pangur, son to the former leader Vitani. Seeing as the young Blue-Water was in need of a mentor, Lully was happy to accept that roll. Vitani had been a good friend to him and having her son in the tribe made him all the more inclined to make sure the boy would stay well and safe.

    Leader
However, much to the deputy's belief, a new disaster struck the lands. Heat and dry grounds became the world around them as they were suddenly plauged by a draught. Yet it did not faze Lully at all, it was simply another thing they had to survive and with all the he had been through, he knew they would. Not everyone however...
Tuari's death hit him harder than any of the previous death of deputies or leaders. Constantly promising himself that he would do anything to help her and wanting to die of old age before he would see another change of Silver, it was with a lot of pain he saw his tattoo turn. Perhaps, if he hadn't already seen so much devastation and death, he would have fallen under the weight. But the years had jaded him and though it was with a lot of grief in him, he took up the roll of the new leader. Water-Tribe had been his family for years and he wanted to do everything in his power to protect and lead them rightfully.

    Second
Though she had been pregnant at the time, Lully decided to make Lyra his deputy. The pale she-cat was one of the older ones in the tribe and a friend he had gotten to know during the draught. He knew right away he wanted her as his Yellow-Water and come the future, he would truly find out that he had made a good choice.

Time rolled by and soon the birth of the second litter with his mate was upon them. Another litter of four healthy kittens, this time named after cats that were dear to him-- three of them at least. Caydin and May after Cadence and Mi, and then the only boy of the four was named Parsley after Basil. In return, Basil named the last girl Lily after Lully. Though all girls were quite the energetic and adventurous kits, there was something sweeter with the second litter.

    Shift
As the drought eventually passes, Lully is allowed to peacefully lead his tribe and visit the new kits for a time. Though the drought seemed to have brought with it new kinds of creatures to the lands, both good and bad, it didn't cause too much of a problem for the tribes. Compared to what would befall him, they were nothing.

That Jazz and Erim had often fought as kits he knew, what it would cause as older he could never have thought. They were adolescents at the time, not even adults, there was a fight between the two and it ended with Erim dead. By accident, Icarus had killed his own sister. It was devastating to Lully and Basil, they had lost another daughter from their first litter. Lully tried his best in being supportive to Icarus, it had been an accident, he knew his son hadn't wanted it to happen, but it was hard. It started a shift in his heart- to his son- that would only become worse.

    Capture
Time doesn't stop though, not for grief or death, and eventually it was time for the second litter to get their tattoos. But what should have been a sad but happy gathering turned into a nightmare.

Right after the ceremony, cats with golden tattoos suddenly charged in in such speed that no one had time to act before they had each taken one of the new apprentices, one of them being Lully's own daughter Caydin. Panic and shock had befallen the large group of cats as the strangers called out their demands. One high ranked cat from each of the tribes in exchange for the kits. Lully didn't hesitate for a second, it pained him that he might not see his family for a while and who knew what would happen to him, but he had made a vow to protect his tribe as well. So he gave himself up.

The strangers began to explain their reasons for being there, followers of Alriyel, and implored anyone who wanted to come and join them in a unified group where anyone would be allowed. Right before he and the other five captives- Kintsu, Zarya, Seraphiel, Alcina and Sojir- were shuffled away, Lully could hear the first one that joined the Goldens. His own son, Icarus.

    Hell
Three months of dark caves, three months of hell. He and the other five were kept alive, but only barely. Pain and torture, the only thing that kept Lully strong was the thought of his family. He doesn't speak much of his time as captured, perhaps never will.

    Scarred
There was a lot of confusion when the so called 'Alriyel' came and set them free but mostly it was just relief and Lully barely listened to his words when he stumbled out to the blinding light with the others. They began their slow trek towards Light Tribe, weak and wounded but alive. Cats everywhere, shouts and words, it was all a blur to Lully when he arrived. All he was looking for was Basil and once his eyes found hers, he smiled before finally letting the fatigue take over and caved to the darkness as he fainted.

He spent a week in Light to recover from the worst injuries and while doing so met Rose again. At first he believed he's just tired and his mind tricking him when she entered the den but it doesn't take long before he realized she was actually there. After a lot of crying and incoherent mumbling from him, he found out that she had returned while he had been captured. She had been alive and well all along.

There was another from Water in Light Tribe healing from injuries. Lully soon learned that Pangur had found Icarus, their talk had turned for the worse and Icarus had dropped Pangur high up in the air, cracking his head and many other bones as he fell to the ground. Although Pangur insisted it was all his fault, Lully refused to believe it and felt the shift to his son grow wider.

    Water
Returning to Water, he was finally able to get all the information on what had happened and gave a surprisingly strong speech to his tribe that 'Water will stay Water', they wouldn't be against Alriyel but they wouldn't join him either. He also learned that Coud had disappeared without a word and whether or not he was alive was something no one knew or could tell.

The leader spent the next month mostly recovering and keeping his tribe together. His strength was slowly returning to him and eventually, the only thing left on him that showed his days of hell was the three pointed scar on his face. However, while his body recovered, his mind seemed to deteriorate. The nightmares became slowly worse and often he'd wake up in pain and fear, sleep became hard for him.

    Null
Though often tired and weary, Lully still continued to work for his tribe and showed little of his own troubles, much less spoke of them. The first gathering after his return came and was once again far from normal. The Spirits spoke through the leaders to the so called 'Alriyel', who turned out to be a Spirit himself, one from far away and only disguised as the Golden Butterfly. The foreign Spirit wouldn't back down when asked to leave and so he broke apart, left to reach the plane that Spirits of the Tribes resided in and scarred the very sky.

After that, the world became strange as the Cosmic Battle raged. Powers seemed to flicker, working when they shouldn't and not working when they should. After a month it finally came to an end as the final battle between the Spirits took place. One final fight and it was over, they were all gone. Nothing of the Spirits remained. Tattooless and powerless, Lully tried to keep his tribe together as so many broke off to form other groups.

    New
It wasn't over. As the Spirits returned, they weren't the same- not even the same number. They arrived new and with changes. Lully was wary but tried to keep at least a neutral view on his new Spirit. Though all his thoughts came to an halt as he saw Niamh take on the Silver tattoo and not his own mate, hers turned grey. Having not had any prior talk about it at all, it was in totally shock that Lully eventually went up to the Water Spirit to get his own tattoo back. Afterwards, he found out that Basil didn't want to have to choose between her tribe and family. From now, she wanted to dedicated her life to her family.

A lot of stuff has happened....

    Elder
So many years have passed since his tattoo turned Silver. Many years of joy, but hardship as well. As time as gone on, the weight of his rank has fallen heavier on him. No matter how much he wants to keep going, keep leading his beloved tribe, his body can not. It takes the Enlightened War for him to realize just how old and broken he has become. The scars from old wars and battles ache and shackles him. So, once the war was won and they had returned home, the old tom says his final words as the Silver-Water to his tribe. Thanking them for all the years before finally letting go, the power of Silver slipping away from him as he retires. It's bittersweet, but needed. At the very least, he won't spend his last years alone, not with Basil retiring with him. Joining him in a soulbond as they can now put all their focus and love on each other.
