It was supposed to be joyous news, anyone and everyone would think so.
A third litter, little siblings.

She knew she was supposed to feel happy but the first feeling that dawned on Adalin was fear and nervousity. Her thoughts began to spin around and bottled fears rised up anew. Replaced, forgotten, she couldn't help but think about such things as her mother told her the news. It collided with that small part of her that was trying to act her age, she was an adult now, she wasn't supposed to think like she did. Yet, she couldn't help it.

Adalin had tried to smile, had tried to laugh as she congratulated her mother, had done her best to sound happy and hesitantly had agreed to her mother's request in telling her siblings the news. It was with a troubled frown and fluttering heart that she left Earth to seek her littermates.

There was jealousy in her as well and she felt it growning as she walked, because the new siblings would have both their parents with them. They would have both Basil and Lully, day and night, doting over them. Never leaving for some other tribe. And their mother would have a lot of time for them without having to worry about her chores as a leader.

Anger welled up inside the Orange-Earth and she clenched her teeth together, feeling her eyes sting. She had to stop in her walk to calm down, shaking her head in an attempt to clear the bad thoughts. You're being stupid. Stop it. They still love you. She bit her lip. Childish.

Green eyes turned to gaze up at the tree tops of the forest and she wished so deeply for Elliott to be there with her. Maybe he could feel it, now that they were soulbonds. They couldn't speak through telepathy yet but at that point, it was something she really wanted. She'd have to go see him later, first she had to find her siblings. Siblings she had not seen in... a long time.

Did they want to see her...?

Adalin stared down at the forest ground, her forehead creasing and worry swelling in her chest.
Of course they do. You're letting your fears taking over. Stop it.

She closed her eyes.

Stop it.
You're not a kid anymore.
Stop it.

She took a deep breath, tried to subdue her emotions, and began walking again. Tried to feel happy as she put on a smile, telling her siblings the big news once she reached them.

It took him a moment to process the news.

"No joke?" He mumbled, rocking back on his haunches as he registered this genuinely surprising news. Or perhaps it shouldn't have been such a surprise. He did miss having Basil in Light-Tribe. He missed his mother a lot, actually. But he was lucky that he'd had her around for as long as he did, and now it was time for her to be happy elsewhere.

He smiled, eyes closed, and let out a little hum. "They'll be lucky, those kids. Two loving parents in one tribe. And Rose! Ahh, I wish I could have little kittens running around too. You and your litter-mates were all so cute."
